Yeng Constantino took to social media to narrate her terrifying experience in Siargao with husband Yan Asuncion, who unfortunately got into an accident after jumping off a famous cliff diving spot in Siargao.

Singer Yeng Constantino started her caption by explaining that her husband is already in good condition now and went on to lament about the negligence shown at the hospital, Dapa Siargao Hospital, and the lack of emergency equipment at the scene.

On Instagram, she wrote in details: “PART 1: Accident in Siargao and scary na experience sa Dapa Siargao Hospital. Super grateful kami.”

Yeng described her husband’s condition after the accident. She said Yan experienced memory loss after jumping off a cliff in Sugba Lagoon, a famous diving spot in the island.

After nung impact nagka-memory loss sya.

Sana meron din ditong equipments dahil malapit to sa tourist attractions na my cliff diving at prone to accidents.’ Dinrive kami ng ambulance ng mabilis to Dapa Hospital.”

The 30-year-old musician shared her frustration over Dapa Siargao Hospital because it took so long for the hospital personnel to attend to her husband who’s obviously in critical condition at that time.

“Pambihira!

“1. Walang operator ng x ray. – yung unang nag x ray kay Yan nag error yung ginawa nya. After 2 hours dumating yung marunong mag operate nung x ray machine.

“So ang ginagawa nila dahil nag error yung x ray they called in medical people from
General Luna Siargao Hospital.

Yeng also called out a doctor named Esterlina Luzares Tan, who belatedly offered to use the hospital’s Infrascanner, a vital equipment for Yan’s case, after several failed attempts in the X-Ray and ultrasound examination.

At pagbukas nito wala pang battery charge so we had to wait para gumana!!!

On a separate post, she further explained that the same doctor intentionally hid the equipment and displayed lack of apathy and urgency in the situation.

All this time na buong tensyon ang room sya lamang ang kalma at tila walang pakialam ay meron palang equipment na tinatago na specifically kailangan sa accident na ito! Para po akong mababaliw! 3. God bless us all!Ps. Full Experience namin link on my bio.📸: @Yeng Constantino

Yeng revealed on the latter part of her caption that ironically one of the medical staff at the hospital disclosed that a lot of patients couldn’t make it in Dapa Siargao Hospital because of negligence.

“After ng mga nangyaring ito may isang medical staff (ayaw magpapangalan)na kumausap sa bestfriend ko at pinasabi sakin na marami daw talagang namamatay sa hospital sa Dapa Siargao Hospital because of negligence.”

The Kapamilya artist also called the attention of the local government to also provide for quality equipment needed at the hospitals in Siargao considering it is one of the best tourist spots in the country.

The singer concluded her two-part long post by pointing out that journalist Karen Davila and model Kelsey Merritt also experienced the same thing in the island.

God bless us all! Ps. Si Ms. Karen Davila at Kelsey Merritt may naexperience ding ganito sa Siargao.” she said.

Last year, broadcast journalist Karen Davila’s son figured in an accident while surfing and was unable to receive proper first aid.

In April, the boyfriend of model Kelsey Merritt Olympian Condor Dwyer sustained a head cut that needed stitches. To get proper medical treatment, they had to ride a boat to reach a clinic since the municipality they were in at General Luna had no hospitals.
