Sometimes being a critic and giving strong remarks on a person will end up tragic for you and your job.
Veteran entertainment host Jobert Sucaldito couldn’t help but lament his month-long suspension following his controversial remarks against Nadine Lustre.
It can be remembered that Jobert defends his fellow columnist Ricky Lo during his segment Showbuzz against Nadine Lustre.
He remarked on Nadine’s cryptic Instagram posts at the time which had fueled the rumors of the JaDine breakup and joked that she “should have just jumped” off a building.
However, his statement angered many JaDine fans and celebrities. They took to social media and the hashtag “#Suic1deIsNotAJokeJobert” quickly trended on Twitter.
A month after, Jobert has revealed on a Facebook post that he had not gone back to DZMM since the controversy.
“More than 1 month na akong suspended sa DZMM program naming SHOWBUZZ – WITHOUT PAY ha. Mga fans (the trolls ha – not the educated ones) lang pala ni Nadine Lustre ang makakapagpatanggal sa akin sa show. na lubos na pinaniwalaan yata ng napakahusay naming station manager,” he said.
“So sad. I’d like to think that I was a very loyal Kapamilya pero ano nangyari? Nganga ang baklita! Seriously, I don’t know kung ipagdarasal ko pa sila for the renewal of the franchise. Sayang – malakas pa naman ako kay Lord,” he joked.
Jobert continued to air his sentiments in another Facebook rant.
“Painful but that’s the reality. Mahirap kaya ang maging jobless for a month (di mo alam kung hanggang kailan — baka till the end of time) lalo pa’t breadwinner ka. House rental, kuryente, food, baon ng mga pinag-aaral, etc. Nabubuhay muna sa konting diskarte,” he said.
He also expressed sadness over how he is being treated despite having spent 20 years with the TV network and 17 years with its radio network.
His post elicited mixed reactions from netizens.
