With the help of Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds on Twitter, a Filipino-Canadian finally found her very special teddy bear.
The 43-year-old Vancouver-born actor offered a $ 5,000 (PHP246,000) reward for returning the custom-made bear of Mara Soriano, 28.
Mara is also living in Vancouver.
Ryan knew how special that bear was to Mara, so the Hollywood star asked his 16.2 million Twitter followers to help the Pinay.
“Vancouver: $5,000 to anyone who returns this bear to Mara. Zero questions asked. I think we all need this bear to come home.”
It was revealed that the only voice recording left by her late mom was inside her teddy bear. That’s why the Pinay almost lost her life when her teddy was gone.
It was Friday, July 24, when the bear disappeared while Mara was moving to her new apartment in Vancouver.
And this Wednesday, July 29, her beloved teddy bear has been returned to the Pinay.
Mara immediately posted a photo of herself on Twitter, where she smiled while holding the bear.
She also tagged Ryan on her post.
“MAMABEAR IS HOME!!!”
Based on Mara, two good Samaritans brought her teddy back. Although the eyeglasses of her teddy were lost, the voice recording was still intact.
As of this writing, there is no confirmation if Ryan Reynolds already handed the cash reward.
The actor’s posts had 100,000 retweets, in addition to the 340,000 likes it garnered.
Meanwhile, in the CBC interview with Mara this Sunday, the girl was very grateful for Ryan’s help.
Thanks to the Hollywood star, Mara has received messages of sympathy from all over the world.
Very touching indeed! What can you say?
